February 2018 – Robin wrote – “We celebrated our first birthday on Wednesday 10th January 2018. Thanks to all from within the parish and the community who came along to celebrate with us. Having just had a Pudsey Bear Do and an excellent Christmas Party with a real Santa, we kept all of our celebrations modest – but we did have a splendid cake with candles to blow out.

St Cedds 1

Despite all the snow on Wednesday 28th February 2018 we still managed to meet and there were four helpers there, two mums and three children.

Salsa1

On Wednesday 21st March 2018 we had a visit from Eddy Chegwin who ran a Baby Group Salsa. The session started with around 30 mothers, grandmothers, children and helpers on their feet and dancing.

Eddie runs a baby group Salsa dancing which is a keep fit dancing to Latin music such as Salsa, Merengue, Bachata and Reggaeton. She comes from Columbia and uses the own baby’s weight as part of the routine to increase without intensity, whilst it then helps to strengthen the baby’s neck muscles and overall stimulation about their surroundings.

All babies have an instinctive sense of rhythm and a love of music, so music should be part of your everyday life.

She holds sessions at the Kingsland church (above Aldi) at 86 London Road in Colchester on Thursdays between 12 and 12.45. The first session is free and you can book a place by ringing her on 07879841389 or emailing her on –
