Fr Nicholas spoke about returning from his holiday in Sicily where the heat had a temperature of around 30 degrees Centigrade to the cold of Shrub End where he needed to turn on the heat. As in the past the items after the service would be donated to Beacon House. .
Faith in Action was the current Mothers’ Union theme and this was the subject that Canon Eileen French spoke about at the last meeting. She reminded us of the two projects ongoing – Contact Centres.
A recipe for Autumn was featured and this was for Blackberry and Orange Stuffed Oranges.
News from Stanway Green Lodge
There was a big thank you for Alex Bass who had visited in the last month and had entertained the resident with a slide show which featured the wildlife of East Anglia. Hazel had paid a visit and bean discussing Winter bedding plants. The group had been to Wyevale Garden Centre on a day that was sunny but had a blustery wind too. There had also been a catch up chat with Lou Cotter from the Iceni Academy.
