From the vicar
Fr Nicholas in his letter referred to the uncertainties now after the recent Referendum result. Recently we celebrated the end of Eastertide with the Solemnity of Pentecost.
The date of our Annual Strawberry Tea is set at least six months in advance when the programme for the year is being produced. Little did Brenda realise that this year the date would fall nicely to co-incide with a scheme the Mothers Union are running for the Summer called “A Summer of Hope”. He aim was to raise £125,000 to help poor families turn hopes for a better harvest into fields full of crops, which takes extra tools and seeds. This month Lynn was due to talk about her doll collection.
News from Stanway Green Lodge
The residents were trying to make the most of the days when we had some lovely sunshine in the last few weeks. Bernard Tagliavini came to entertain and they chose a glorious day to go to the Castle Park.
Life at the Iceni Academy
Already half way through the Summer term and a number of year 6 pupils took part in a Youth Speaks competition at the Town Hall and were excited to have met the mayor. The Year 4 children had been to a farm in Writtle near Chelmsford.
