From the vicar

Fr Nicholas referred to the upcoming visits for Evensong to local churches. He also spoke of the up and coming Referendum..  

 

Art Exhibition

It was reported that net proceeds from the Art Exhibition (excluding the mini market) was £1,549.09. There had been 302 paintings submitted from 68 artists of which 25% had been sold. Thanks were given to all who had worked so hard to put it on and to all the sponsors..

 

Mothers’ Union

Another successful strawberry tea had been held which saw strawberries, scones and cream eaten. The speaker for the month was due to be Vivien Chapman speaking about Social Policy.  

 

Christian Aid

The donations given had amounted to £130 which had been placed in the box at the back of the church.

 

Deanery News

On 25th June, a “Last Night of the Proms” event was held in the Rectory Gardens in Wivenhoe.

 

Life at Iceni Academy

It had been another busy month with another visit having been made to Stanway Green Lodge to sing to the residents. The Year 3 Group had been to visit Tescos to take part in the “Farm to Fork” section.   

 

News from Stanway Green Lodge

With the weather unpredictable, the residents had stayed in and made fruit tarts and it was reported that the vegetable garden was going well. If conditions change, then it was hoped that the Summer Garden Party would go ahead soon.
