From the vicar

Fr Nicholas spoke of the 50 days since Easter and of the success of the Art Exhibition. Thanks were expressed to all who helped out.  

 

APCM

At the APCM Robin and Geoff were appointed as the churchwardens.

 

Art Exhibition

Full details of the Art Exhibition proceeds were not fully known but these would be reported when available.

 

Mothers’ Union

Last month the group had been travelling but not very far only to Stanway Green Lodge. Brenda gave them a short talk about the history of the Mothers’ Union. Afterwards there was a welcome cuppa, sausage rolls and cakes.   

 

Thursday Open Afternoon

The generosity of the members of the group had seen donations of £40 to be sent to Sightsavers (towards their campaign), The Smile Train and Talking Books for the Blind.

 

May Fayre

Proceeds from the various stalls had seen £284.20 raised for church funds.

 

Life at Iceni Academy

The magazine spoke about the changes to what we use to call Kingsford’s School which since September 2015 was now changed to the Iceni Academy.

 

News from Stanway Green Lodge

The planned high tea had to be cancelled but this was being rescheduled. A resident Roger had put two paintings into the Art Exhibition and they had seen a visit from the Iceni Academy choir.
