OCTOBER 2015
In the brief review of the month’s magazine
From the Vicar
Due to a forthcoming holiday, his letter was written earlier than normal. He spoke about the problems in the Middle East. Then he ended with some verses from St Matthew’s Gospel.
This was followed by a message from Bishop Steven, referring to the Diocesan Refuge Appeal.
Sale of “Shrub End, Looking Back” book
Many of the retyped books, originally written by Richard and Geoff have now been sold.
Harvest Meal
After the service, a Harvest Lunch was organised, which was at St Cedd’s. Offerings from the Thanksgiving Service were sent to Beacon House.
Mothers’ Union
Chris Wilkes, a local volunteer and Children’s Society box office organiser for where he lives in Debenham, Suffolk, was the speaker last month. Even though many people are box holders, the actual history and ethos of the Society was perhaps a mystery. The Society helps to change children’s stories.
Ride & Stride – Friends of Essex Churches Trust
Thanks were given to everyone who took part.
