DECEMBER 2017 MAGAZINE
From the vicar
Fr Nicholas spoken of how the weather was getting colder as we were making our preparations for Christmas. However its religious implications must not be forgotten as this was the beginning of God’s plan for our salvation.
Thanks were given for all monies donated towards the festive flowers.
A recipe was given for chestnut and lentil soup.
A craft session was held where cards were made after the instructions came from our own Sandra.
News from Stanway Green Lodge
Again the theme from the Lodge’s news was the cold weather. They had been active in putting in their winter plants in the back garden and this year Diwali had been celebrated with the children from the Iceni Academy who joined in with their arts and craft session, where they made decorative candle holders for tea lights. They also held a Haloween themed hih tea before Bonfire Night was attended at the start of November.
There was a return visit by Alex Bass for his talk and slide show on the theme of Entertainers Past and Present. At short notice the Iceni Academy returned to help with Poppy Wreaths for Remembrance Sunday. On a subject of return visits, the V team from the University of Essex came again.
